Description

Berberine is an important bioactive compound found in the roots, stems, bark, and berries of plants belonging to the Berberis genus. Vitals uses a highly purified extract from the roots of Berberis aristata, also known as Indian barberry or tree turmeric. The plants containing berberine have been used for thousands of years in India, China, Japan, and many other countries.

Research Background 
Since the 1950s, berberine has been isolated as a natural compound and used as a dietary supplement. Over the past two decades, scientific interest in berberine has increased significantly, with about 200 new studies published each year.
One of the main mechanisms of action of berberine is the activation of AMPK (adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase), known as the “metabolic master switch.” This enzyme plays a key role in glucose and fat metabolism, supporting blood sugar balance, healthy cholesterol and triglyceride levels, and optimal liver function.

Direction for use
